In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. The first TEDx Kilimani event, fittingly themed, ‘The Next Chapter’ was held at the Braeburn High school on the 7th of June 2014. The speakers included Heshan De Silva, Billy Sankei, Mark Kaigwa, Esmeralda De Souza, Rabbia Hawa, Denis Ndavi and Jabari Smith. It was a great success with all the participants enjoying themselves thoroughly having listened to these seasoned agents of change share their varied experiences.
